Why Gratitude Is the Secret to Attracting Your Next Opportunity
When storyteller Kasper Sørensen told stories to dying children in a Denmark hospital, he would often ask the children he met the same question, “what is the secret to life?” Their answers were surprising and unanimous, “be grateful for what you have and the rest — just forgive.” These children’s deathbed realisations were most profound and perhaps they are rooted in universal truth; gratitude and opportunity are intrinsically linked.
Many people go through life thinking opportunities will just fall in their lap, and for some, that may appear true, but for the majority of us, we have to put ourselves out there and attract it. Gratitude is an important and constructive attitude, and it is not just the preserve of young, bright children in Denmark; it is for everyone. When SOAR Book Club started the year with a Gratitude and Celebration as its first reading theme, the reasons were clear. So, how can gratitude open you up to a range of fresh opportunities — opportunities that you probably thought impossible?
